Women Who WP at WordCamp San Diego

As Women Who WP, we so proud that Elizabeth Shilling, one of our founders, was chosen by the WordPress Foundation as this year’s Kim Parsell Memorial Scholarship winner.

We’re grateful that this scholarship exists because we feel it is much needed. Many women have difficulty in justifying both the hard and soft costs of WordCamp-related travel.

WordCamps are a celebration of the local WordPress community, and even local camps have travel, lodging, and child care costs involved. We hope to, once our 501(c)3 status is granted, offer scholarships to women to encourage them to apply to speak at WordCamps.

Please help us congratulate her and let’s continue building our community.
